Owl Twins

When a friend told me she was expecting twins, I knew I had to make matching yet not identical quilts. Anna loves owls and that was an obvious theme to choose. I decided to use lots of the same fabrics (left over pieces from many a dress) but vary the owls and the designs.

I think I prefer the rounder, fatter owls and I’m really pleased with how they look in their little rows of three. But I also love how the nine-patches have turned out.

I gave them both pink backs but different fabrics then used the same green spots for both bindings so they hang together nicely.

I posted them separately and received the best thank you message when they arrived: “Oh my owly goodness!”
