I’m Catherine and I just can’t stop sewing! I’m a teacher so my working life is pretty hectic and can easily spill over if I’m not disciplined enough. I’m also a musician: I play the violin in various orchestras (such as Sinfonia of Birmingham) and quartets and I sing, also in several small groups (such as The Armonico Consort). I love that my evenings are either spent socialising or music-making (or, more often, both!) but I do find it hard to switch off and sewing is a real oasis of calm for me (until the inevitable unpicking…)

My wonderful and totally inspirational Granny has been teaching me patchwork for years now and I love that we have this shared passion. We often spend a blissful day or two stitching away together.

Starting this blog has been a real eye-opener for me in terms of looking back at everything I’ve made and how much I’ve learned about both about sewing and myself along the way.
